Our Mission
Unity for Uplift is a certified 501(c)(3) nonprofit that aims to end healthcare insecurity in areas of Pakistan that are neglected and often overlooked by the government and other humanitarian organizations. By providing these areas with donations and important resources such as hygiene kits, medical education and more, we will be able to uplift the lives of many. We intend to empower these communities with opportunities, hope, and the tools they need to build a brighter future—one step, one family, and one community at a time.

Founders

Zinia sajjad
Zinia Sajjad, the President and Co-Founder of Unity for Uplift, is currently a high school senior who was born and raised in New York. Spending nearly every summer visiting her family in Pakistan, Zinia witnessed both the joy of reconnecting with loved ones and the harsh realities faced by many in underprivileged communities. Over time, she became aware of the widespread poverty affecting a sizable portion of the population. She observed families struggling to access basic medical care, with individuals suffering from treatable illnesses simply because they could not afford a doctor or lived in areas lacking proper healthcare facilities. These experiences ignited a passion within her to make a meaningful difference. Motivated by these challenges, Zinia co-founded Unity for Uplift, a nonprofit organization committed to addressing healthcare insecurity by creating sustainable solutions and expanding access to medical education, improving healthcare availability, and empowering individuals to build better futures for themselves and their families.

MALIHA METLA
Maliha Metla, the Vice President and Co-Founder of Unity for Uplift, is currently a high school junior who was born and raised in New York. During the summer of 2023, Maliha visited Pakistan and had the opportunity to see the conditions faced by underserved communities firsthand. She witnessed families struggling with limited access to healthcare, medical education, and basic hygiene resources, issues that often go unnoticed and unaddressed. Deeply moved by these experiences, Maliha developed a strong desire to help those affected by healthcare insecurity. Motivated by this mission, she co-founded Unity for Uplift, a certified 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to ending healthcare insecurity in overlooked areas of Pakistan by providing essential medical resources, promoting health education, and empowering families to create healthier, brighter futures.
